Alicia & Dan's
Relaxed Family Celebration at Jarrahfall Bush Camp
There is something incredibly grounding about a love story that weaves its way through different chapters of life before finally settling into place. For Alicia and Dan, their journey to the altar was filled with beautiful coincidences and a deep sense of family. When it came to choosing the perfect backdrop to celebrate their marriage, they wanted a location that reflected their down to earth nature, landing on a relaxed, fun bush setting at Jarrahfall Bush Camp through Dwellingup Weddings.
Though they had known each other for years through Dan’s hockey club, it was a minor car bingle that brought them back together when Alicia took her car to Dan’s workshop to be fixed. As it turned out, their connection ran even deeper; Dan had lived on the very same street as Alicia’s childhood best friend, meaning they likely crossed paths as kids.
But the truest sign of things to come came from Alicia’s five year old daughter. After meeting Dan for the first time, she turned to her mum and said, “I really like him mum, he has a really kind face.” From that moment on, Dan took her under his wing without a second thought.
When the couple began looking for a wedding venue, they initially considered everything from the South West to the beach. However, Jarrahfall Bush Camp was the only venue they toured in person. Dwellingup offered the perfect alternative to the typical down south wedding, providing those stunning country bush vibes without the exhausting drive for their 100 adult guests and 24 kids. Being close to the city meant loved ones could easily commute for just one night, while others took full advantage of the venue’s versatile accommodation, pitching tents, parking caravans, and staying in the glamping setups right on site.
They fell in love with it instantly and booked it on the spot.
Planning a wedding can be a daunting task, but Alicia credits the incredible support from the venue’s coordinator, Lauren, for making the experience seamless. Admitting she had no idea what it took to organise a wedding, Alicia found Lauren’s step by step timelines and constant guidance invaluable, allowing the couple to actually enjoy the build up to their big day.
For Alicia and Dan, Dwellingup has always been a special place for camping trips with the kids, making it the ultimate location to start their forever. Reflecting on the day, Alicia shares that while the entire celebration was magical, her absolute favourite moment to relive would be the reception party, surrounded by a forest of trees and a lifetime of family and friends.
