Rustic Summer Celebration at Jarrahfall Bush Camp

Some love stories begin with a favourite song. For Ella and Dean, it happened at a friend’s wedding. Dean was the singer, and Ella was in the crowd. “He was the singer and I was in the crowd enjoying his music when we locked eyes… and the rest is history!”

As a couple, they’re music-loving, travel-seeking, and affectionate, with a shared appreciation for the simple things in life. When it came time to plan their wedding, they wanted a celebration that reflected exactly that: something rustic but elegant, deeply connected to nature, and full of heart.

Jarrahfall Bush Camp in Dwellingup offered the perfect setting. Surrounded by forest, they exchanged vows in the bush, with kangaroos nearby and birds calling through the trees. “The setting was exactly what we dreamed of. It was filled with nature at every step. We said our ‘I do’s’ in the Jarrahfall forest, and our reception was outdoors so we could see the sunset and the stars.”

With 85 guests, the day had an intimate, vibrant energy.

“The atmosphere was vibrant and full of dancing. Even my grandparents who were in their eighties stayed up dancing until 1am.”

Choosing Dwellingup was an easy decision. “The beautiful bushland, the price, the seclusion of it, and the fact that it was a destination from Perth” made it the ideal location. Many guests travelled from Victoria, and while it was a longer journey for some, “they are country people so they felt at home.”

One of the highlights of planning was working with Lauren, Jarrahfall’s event coordinator. “Dealing with Lauren was fantastic. She was quick to respond and had a lot of experience which helped us with big decisions.”

On Your Terms

Jarrahfall also gave them the freedom to create a celebration that was truly their own.

“Being able to end the party on our terms rather than the venue’s, not having sound restrictions, being able to have everyone stay at the same location, and the beautiful bushland setting” made all the difference.

The Perfect Venue with the Perfect Team

They had looked at other venues in Metricup and Margaret River, but nothing quite compared. “Having help to set up everything and having the one person liaise with vendors was extremely helpful. We also loved the big deck outside where we had our reception.”

Ella and Dean would absolutely recommend the venue to other couples for many reasons including, “the stunning location, being able to have your whole guestlist stay with you, and the DIY nature of the booking as it helps save a lot of money.”

And if they could relive just one moment? “Walking down the bush aisle to our special song.” How magical?!
